Chasing the next high? Session with S

My (Mike's) personal recollections of amazing moments shared, published with permission of all person(s) involved. Though hosted on SMA’s site, these writings may not specifically be about sensual massage but are simply my journey, experiences and musings about life, the universe and everything in-between.

In Fet, we tend to get attracted to the flashier, more extreme writings, experiences, pictures and videos. After all, it's no surprise that we're drawn to the highs in all aspects of life.

I'd like to take a step back, however, and share my thoughts about this. Can, or should every session be a high?

Firstly, I think sessions should not be evaluated primarily as one-off or on their own. Rather, each experience is a continuation of interactions made and built over time. Our recent sessions give an overall tenor to the connection we share and are like individual notes in a musical phrase - together, they convey so much more meaning and beauty than on their own.

Also, there are many kinds of highs and certainly, how we enjoy time with each other shouldn't be one-dimensional - what we enjoy from interactions can be multi-faceted and varied. I do believe that the more dimensions we can appreciate and enjoy, the richer we are for it.

Mindfulness, being more aware and 'in the moment', certainly helps and is part of the reason why I practice it.

Lastly, sessions with intense highs don't happen just like that. Time spent building connection, understanding each other and simply being present, help in building a foundation of trust that make greater and greater intensity possible.

Session with S

One of my sessions with S reminded me of this. We usually have pretty wild, no-holds barred time together (that's one kind of high!) but this time it was more subdued and different, in a good way.

This time, it felt a lot more connectional, less 'busy', and we still both thoroughly enjoyed it. Less is more? It prompted me to think about how sessions can differ in both experience and perception - it doesn't always have to be about mind games, mental predicament, outright dominance and even, sexual energy!

At times, being there and sharing a good hug is what we really need!

With S, in this session, it just felt right to give her more affection, TLC and affirmation.

What did I enjoy from it? I enjoyed taking S, using her in the way that pleased me, and loved the intimacy shared - a very sensual experience of skinship that I was happy to indulge in, and express my satisfaction with (her). That she did please me and give me a lot of pleasure - my good girl and my slut.

As for understanding each other's reactions - things felt more instinctive, I recall mainly just doing what felt good and natural to me, and that turned out to be mutually enjoyable for both of us. (Usually, in more 'technical' sessions, I am thinking about the experience and what to do next - that's enjoyable too, in a different way!)

S too, helped me with some aspects of myself that I wanted to work on, and I'm grateful for that.

So yes, overall a very enjoyable session that, while light (on the bdsm components), felt intense because of our connection. Looking back, I'm quite amazed and pleased at how things have progressed!

Coda

Highs are still great. However, I'm reminded that there are many kinds of highs, and chasing one kind of high can be counter-productive, one-dimensional and even, boring.

If we find ourselves evaluating experiences in primarily one way, it's a good reminder to try to shake things up once in a while, to look at things from a different perspective.

Let's try to build on the richness of our connections by finding the beauty in as many aspects as we possibly can, and sharing those thoughts with others so that we all may grow together! As always, your thoughts and comments are welcome.

Cheers, Mike 😘😘😘
